Fishing Pole Rack

IMG_7419.JPG

I made this because I love fishing. My fishing poles are one of my favorite things and I want to keep them in good condition over the seasons. This rack keeps them off the ground and provides a better way to keep them safe from someone breaking them. It is a good and easy project that will help you with storage.

Supplies:
  • Oak plank
  • 1 ⅝ in screws
  • Tape measure
  • Table saw
  • Jig saw or band saw
  • Drill with a ⅛ drill bit
  • Phillip screw driver or a screw gun

Your starting board should be 6 inches wide by at least 23 inches long.

If your board is longer than 23" cut the extra wood off.

Then use a table saw to cut the board at 3" wide and then take the extra
and cut that at 2 1/2" wide.

Then drill two holes in the middle of the board (that has the width of 3 in) 2" from the end
and 1 1/2" from the side.

Take the 2 1/2" board and mark 1 in line and add two
more lines 1/8" away from the center.

Then repeat on every third inch, starting at 4" all the way to 22".

Now, cut the markings back one inch with a band saw or a jig saw.

After cutting sand the wood down.
Then pre-drill the 2 1/2" on the opposite side of where you cut, then screw the
pieces together.

I hope that this is easy for you and that it will work well.
