Apple Filled Cupcakes with Brown Sugar Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting

Everything about this recipe screams fall, the delicious apple filling to the creamy brown sugar cinnamon frosting. When I found this recipe, I thought it sounded so wonderful that I knew I had to make it. When I took the first bite of this cupcake, it was even more delicious than I dreamed it would be. The chewy apple filling works perfectly with the rich frosting. Here is the recipe to these amazing cupcakes that I know you will love.

Ingredients:
  • Your favorite box of white cake mix and box ingredients
  • 20 oz apple pie filling
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven and line muffin tins with paper liners.
  2. Prepare batter according to box directions.
  3. Bake cupcakes according to box directions.
  4. Allow to cool completely.
  5. Use a knife to dice the apple pie filling into smaller pieces.

  1. Use a knife to core out a plug in the middle of each cupcake and fill with pie filling.

  1. Whip butter brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla until fluffy.

  1. Gradually add powdered sugar.

  1. Add milk until you reach desired consistency.
  2. Transfer to piping bag and frost each cupcake.
