As Thanksgiving is coming up it’s nice to think about all the things we have to be grateful for. Maybe it’s a house, food to eat, or even just celebrating Thanksgiving with your family. But sometimes though we forget what Thanksgiving is about. We get too occupied with football games, preparing the perfect meal, and even focusing too much on that pumpkin pie that we forget all about being thankful. As silly as it sounds there is one little thing on your plate at Thanksgiving that you can be thankful for. And that thing is a napkin. Without that napkin your your face would be messy and little ones hands would be caked with food. So today I’m going to show you a way to make your napkins look more thanksgiving themed and give everyone around the table the subtle reminder to remember to be grateful for what they have. Let’s get right into making our thanksgiving napkin rings!
Supplies:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Twine
- A black button
- Felt ( Yellow, Red, & Orange )
- Scissors
- Hot glue
- Little piece of paper
- Bread bag twisty tie
Steps:
- First take your toilet paper roll and cut it to be about 1 1/2 inches.
- Next heat up your hot glue gun and grab your twine and scissors. Once your hot glue gun is heated, begin gluing the twine around your toilet paper roll.
- Now we’re going to make our three leaves. With your orange felt draw an oak leaf, on your red felt draw a maple leaf, and on the orange draw a elm leaf.
- Once all your leaves are drawn, cut them out. Then take a black sharpie and draw stitch like lines on all the leaves.
- Now position your leaves so they are overlapping on the toilet paper roll like the picture below shows. Then take your hot glue gun and glue down the leaves.
- Then take your button and hot glue it right where all the leaves stems meet.
- Next take a little rectangle piece of paper and write thankful or grateful on it. Then put a little hole on the end of it for the twisty tie to go through.
- Now take your twisty tie and make it curly. I just took a pencil and wrapped the twisty tie around it. After that put the paper on the twisty tie.
- Then hot glue part of your twisty tie around the button, and let the rest of it hang off the ring. Also hot glue a little corner of your paper to the ring.
There you go, you have now made your own unique and simple napkin ring. I hope you are thankful that you chose to make this little craft and enjoy using it to spruce up your dinner table. Have a great Thanksgiving with friends and family!
