Bottle Rack

Ever want something fun to display on the counter or on a table during a party. Well now you can. This simple device called the “wine floater”.It is simply a piece of wood that is cut at a 45 degree angle on one end and has just a hole in the center of the board. The idea behind the line floater is that your wine bottles sit in this hole in the middle of the board. And the wine bottle support itself up and it looks like it's defying gravity it's pretty cool actually.
List of materials needed:
  • 15” x 3 1/8” x 3/4” hard wood board (I used oak, about $3.50/ft.)
  • Tape measure
  • Pencil
  • Straight edge
  • Chop saw
  • Drill
  • 1 ½” drill bit
  • Medium sandpaper
  • Fine sandpaper
  • Paint, or stain, or whatever you want to finish your wood.

Step 1: Take your board and chop one end of your board at 45 degrees.
Step 2: Rout the edge of your board to give it some character.

Step 3: Measure to the center of your board and then measure 2 ½ inches from the top.
Step 4: Where you marked your board drill press your hole.

Step 5: Stain and sand your board.
