Peanut Butter Spider Cookies


Halloween is just around the corner, and you know what that means right!? Kids running around in costumes picked just perfectly for them, candy wrappers flying everywhere and anywhere that you could possibly imagine. Instead of buying all of this random candy to give out to the kids why not hand out these cute little spider cookies! They are perfect for Halloween and the kids will love them!

Things you will need:
  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 1/2 c. Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 c. Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. Milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c sugar (rolling)
Decorations:
  • 48 Reese miniatures (body)
  • White and black frosting (eyes)
  • Chocolate chips (spider legs)

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. In a large bowl beat together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla.

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt.



  1. Form into 1’’ balls.
  2. Roll in the sugar and place a couple of inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  1. Bake 10-12 minutes.
  2. Then immediately, gently press a reese cup on the cookie and let them cool .
  3. After they are mostly cooled put the eyes on.
  4. Then place cookies in the fridge for about 10 minutes to allow to firm.
  5. Put the chocolate chips in a bag and put them in the microwave for about 20 seconds cut the tip of the bag off and create the legs.
  6. Then out back in fridge for 10 minutes to let the legs set.
