Want a fun decorative piece of decor that can spice up any room? Then this is the project for you. This canvas flower adds a little bit of sparkle to every room. I am a big fan of DIY projects, so when I found this project on Pinterest I knew I just had to do it! It turns out it is a pretty easy project that is a lot of fun! All you need is…
- Blank Canvas (I used was 16in.x 20in. But you can use whatever size you would like)
- Scrapbook Paper - anywhere between 4 and 6 different patterned sheets
- Mod Podge
- Paint Brush
- Glue Stick
- Paint
- Scissors
*Optional: Stencils if you want to do any words or want the same petal every time
Step 1: Paint your canvas (two coats)
Step 2: Trace and cut out the flower petals - 6 from each sheet of paper
Step 3: Lay out all the petals in a pattern that looks good to you (It is ok to rearrange)
Step 4: Put a little glue on the back of each petal to make sure that they stay connected to the canvas.
Step 5: Paint a thin layer of Mod Podge over the entire canvas (while it is drying you may have to run your fingers over the paper to smooth out bubbles) - if the paper is still lifting after the first coat you will want to apply a second coat. Let dry 15 to 20 minutes in between each coat.
And there you go. A beautiful hanging for your home.
